What is the name of your state?Ohio

A woman I know was arguing with another employee at a fast food place that they worked at. They were half joking, half arguing and he told her he would shoot her. After she laughed, he pulled out a pellet gun and shot her. This just happens to be the owner's son. She reported it and nothing has been done. The management not fired this guy, when he obviously should of been. What should her recourse be? She has been here a long time and will be forfeiting her retirement if she leaves as well as her only income. On the other hand she doesnt feel that she should have to put up with this behavior in a work place.

Any advice, other then get a new job?

And why in the HELL has she not file an assault with the police department?

She doesn't know nothing has been done. Management doesn't announce when they've taken discipinary action with someone. It's possible the owner gave his son bloody hell after the incident was reported to him. Of course it's also possible he shrugged it off. The point is that she's not in a position to know. All she knows is that he wasn't fired which isn't surprising given this is the owner's son.

She needs to report to the authorities

The employer probably hasn't reported anything. That wasn't the question. The question is, why hasn't 'the woman who was shot' contacted the police and reported the assault?
