I was recently fired from a position as a Banking center manager. In a closed door meeting with my supervisor and her immediate supervisor I was told the reasons for my termination. Although it was not given as a reason for my termination, my supervisor informed me that she was informed that I had had "inapropriate relations" with one of my female subordinates. In front of her boss she questioned whether or not I had slept with this individual to which I promptly and imfatically responed no.

A week later I recieved a phone call from the individual whom I had supposedly slept with, to inform me that she had now been told that there was a rumor being spread that we had slept together and that this was why I was terminated.

Seven months later an employee of the same bank called my home to inform my wife that I had slept with one of my subordinates. Subsequently I am now seperated and am being threatened with divorce and the loss of my children.

What if any leagl action can I take against the individuals spreading this slander and what if any action can be taken aginst the company?
