Recently lost 3 fingers at work, lawyers have told me that in the state of MO the employer has no other responsibility other than to provide workmens comp. Who is responsible for their negligence when they by pass the safety equipment on the press. Also I am the 2nd person in the last 2 years to lose fingers on this same press. The press was recently "reconditioned" so technically the mmachine has been modified. I have been told that I can not in any way legally hold them responsible because they are providing workmens comp. Do I have any lawsuits or rights? Or is it that no lawyer around a small town here wants to go near it?
Thank you.
