I was denied service at a local gas station of a large corporation. The cashier refused to turn on my pump or to take my money because she said she didn't like my tone. There was no manager on duty, and she made the decision not to serve me. There was no basis. She would not give me reasons, she would not provide me with a manager's name or contact and I had no way to resolve the matter. All I wanted was gasoline in my empty tank. She grew tired of my persistence to be served and she called the police to escort me out, saying that I was irate, violent and threatening (which wasn't even close). Meanwhile, she berated me, ordered me to leave and continued to ignore my questions while she took customers behind me. The police did come, but I was not escorted away. Instead, they got her manager's name and they plan to pursue the case on their end (as it is illegal to operate an establishement that serves alcohol without a manager). I was embarassed and slighted. I needed gas and I did nothing to deserve this abhorrent treatment. As far as I know, the police are out of it on my end now, but I have yet to resolve the situation.

Interesting story. But nothing illegal. Unless the store has a standard policy of discriminating on race, gender, etc. they have the right to not serve you. And you have the choice to take your business elsewhere.
