What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Tx I am scared I have no clue if this is a scam. Please help me. This is the voice message this person left.

“Yes Deanna this is John I tried to reach you yesterday Miss Holmes this regarding Friday schedule service the legal documents I was providing you a follow call today so we can avoid any issues with this private process tomorrow and just verifying that I'll be making separate attempts in the afternoon so make sure you have a valid form of ID with you if you're not available to sign for these documents tomorrow they are returned in the county has a refusal to miss Holmes if you have any issues or any questions _⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_ claimants office immediately and their office number once again is 877-761-9472 and your claim number is 855809…”

Do you owe anybody any money? Defaulted on a debt? You would know if you did.

I googled the number and came up with nothing.

It could be legit or it could be a scam.

Best thing you can do at this point is call your county court and see if there is a lawsuit pending with your name on it.

If there is, you might want to make the call and get in front of it.

If there isn't, you are free to ignore the call and block the number if you like and then just wait and see what happens.

It's a scam.

If you call the number (which is what they're trying to get you to do) you will be told that you're being sued, and they will make an offer for you to pay $xxx to make the whole thing go away (when it happened to me, it was $400.00). They will also ask you to give them your social security number to verify your identity.

If you do nothing, no process server will show up and you will not be served any documents to sign.

I also agree with Whimsy. A legitimate process server would never leave a message like that. This certainly sounds like a scam.
