What is the name of your state? CA

hello,

I'm in a difficult situation: I have a Greencard for 2 1/2 years. I got my green card through my employer. Before that I was on L1A.
Now, I found the love of my life. Unfortunately, she is not a US Citizen and she does not full-fill basic requirements to come to US. Even her tourist visa application was denied.

We plan to get married. We are not married yet. She doesn't speak english and doesn't study. So the possibility to bring her to US on a F1 or H1 doesn't work.
I did a lot of research and am aware of the situation if we get we get married I have to sponsor her green card in order for her to enter US. However, the waiting time is around 5 years. One option I would like to get your advice on is: do you have any experience with the process of giving up my greencard and go back to my previous visa stage get married and get her on a L2 visa. Then reapply for a green card together.
My questions are:
- would that work?
- how long would it take to go through another green card application?
- what's the procedure?

Thanks,
Herbert
