Thanks ahead for any input! Went to court today seeking help from the court in collecting a court order from 2001 for attorney fees that were awarded to me which I 'm still owed $2,000.00 and past Medical/Dental/Insurance that I paid for for 5 years. $4,500 which also was in origanal order and a few orders after that reminding him to pay. Well, the Judge ordered a Writ of Execution. I do not believe this is going to help me? I believe a Writ will either go after by Wage garnishment (which he has child support alread) or through bank account. Do I have to have the bank account number or do they do this for you? By the judge doing this did this help me in anyway? Maybe draw me closer to a contempt charge in the future? Not really sure if I'm spinning my wheels and what I can try next to collect these monies?

What specifically does the Writ of Execution state? Writs of Execution are against property he owns. It can be either his personal property (boat, car, furniture, etc.) or it can be real property (against a house if he owns one). In order for the courts to go after his banking accounts, it has to be a Writ of Garnishment. That's the difference. The Writ of Execution should have more defining language in it though such as Sheriff's Instructions which outlines specifically what is to be seized.

I spoke to the law facilatator yesterday and he said it was up to me on what I decide to go for? Money, car, property.I was told by my ex himself that in a few months he Company was going to pay him a lump some for back pay.
The facilitator told me to have the Sheriff serve this Writ on the Company with regards to any money that would be coming to him. He already has child support coming out of his check. So, that will do nothing. He works for a real dishonest co. also. So do not even know if this would work. It is left up to me. He said I need to be the investagator on his assets. I guess I'm due interest from 2001 when it was frst ordered and each day until he pays. Good , if I can collect in the first place. I did speak to my ex last night and told him what went on since he was not in court and I told him if he pays the amount orignally asked for I would not add interest. I did not tell him that there is a Writ. Just that the judge ordered interest. Do not want him to start hiding everything. Good for 10 years so he may have something n the future. Do not think it will help me as of this minute.
