What is the name of your state? NY
I just looked into my credit report, and found that the collection agency that got a judgment in the amount of $972, has somehow listed it on my credit report as $1,771!! I tried to dispute online, but that account did not show up for me to dispute! I'm pretty sure it's the public record, but if I was there the day the judge ordered $972, how could they list it with public records as $1,771? Help me!! What do I do?! Thank you! Also, I checked with the court, and the judgment has not even been issued yet. The motion was granted on my court date, but the agency has not ordered it yet, so it is not public record yet! Clerk said I will get a copy in the mail when it is issued.

Once you get a copy of the judgment showing the CORRECT amount, you can dispute what's on your credit reports but you are going to have to do it in WRITING.

Thanks Lady, I have already phoned in a dispute to CRA, unfortunately, I could not dispute online, which would have left me a trail at least. It's a tricky situation though, because the judge had said that this does not have to be put on record, for the judgment creditor to get back to her within 60 days of court date, to let her know. The man that called me from the agency, to talk about stipulation of settlement, said that they can only recommend that the judge not put this on record, the judge will do what she wants. I would like to appeal to the agency, by offering the entire judgment amount to be paid immediately, because the judgment has not been entered yet, therefore could I possibly avoid having this on record at all? I know that I would have to get an agreement in writing, stating that they will file a satisfaction with the court, and copy of my check. I love fascimile transmission!:D Thanks for the help!!!

There is a remote possibility. You could also wind up with a satisfied judgment being reported.
