What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Los Angeles, CA

I got a ticket on a Friday for no parking on Friday 10am-12pm for street cleaning.
However, the address on the ticket is the next street over; which has street cleaning on Wednesday.
I checked another car that had gotten ticketed and it had the same mistake.
Will I have to pay this ticket?
I would think that the ticketing machines they use would have gps. I guess not.

So... does the street where your car was actually parked have "no parking" at the time you were ticketed?
Shouldn't matter. The ticket should be found defective. Note, I didn't say it WILL be found defective. Parking ticket proceedings are not judicial so they can play fast and loose with the rules. All the OP should have to do, though, is to follow the appeal process and mail in the ticket explaining that the street in question allows parking on the day he was ticketed. Proof of some sort would be helpful.

Thanks for the replies.
There was a no parking restriction on the street where I was parked on the date of the ticket.
The address on the ticket does not have parking restrictions on the date of the ticket
I contested the ticket saying only the last sentence. I did not say that the address on the ticket is wrong nor did I mention where my car was parked.

If your ticket says that you were parked at 123 Main Street on Tuesday, in violation of a sign saying no parking on Tuesday, and if no such sign exists (because the restriction on Main Street is for Wednesday), then the ticket should be tossed. You will need to show proof of what you are claiming.

I called the number on the back of the ticket to contest it.
How would I submit proof? Shouldn't they be able to find out what streets have street cleaning restrictions on a particular day?

It's not their job to defend you. YOU need to provide the evidence. Pictures and/or video of the street showing the signs might be enough. Some folks would go as far as asking the city for a letter confirming the rules for parking on that street.
