The bank that has my checking account called me and ask if I had written a check in the amount of $XX,XXX.XX. I said no and begain to look into who passed this large check through my account. Several days before this I had made a payment for a loan at another bank in the amount of $XXX.XX. I paid with my check #1306. Someone from loan bank that I made the payment to, had taken my information from my check (routing number, account number, and check number 1306) and had printed on the bottom of a blank receipt using the machine that makes counter checks and made the check out for the amount of $XX,XXX.XX. This receipt was passed through the Federal Reserve to my checking account bank as legal tender and drawn against my account. Do I have any recourse against the loan bank were the receipt was created.
