my father was pulled over at 8pm on a fri. nite for not wearing a seat belt in michigan. he did not have his driver's license on him. he told the officer his name and ss number. the officer said he could not understand my dad(cuz he is mexican and does have an accent) so my dad wrote his info down on paper. my dad did provide the insurance on the car, but it was in my mother's name. the officer said that my dad's name was not in the police computer. he then handcuffed my dad and took him to jail, where he was not allowed to make a call home for two hours, to let anyone at our home know what had happened to him. on the tickets he recieved(no seat belt, and no license) the officer wrote our previous home address on the tickets. we have no idea how he got this address if my dad was not in the computer. we believe he was arrested because of his race do we have a case?
