What is the name of your state?Pa
I have lived in a home for 11 mos now. My landlord has not done a thing to fix the problems in this house which included: red-tagged furnace, leaking roof which also caused part of bedroom ceiling to collapse, leaking bathroom sink which caused damage to living room ceiling, front proch falling apart, water line breaking 2 times, and the fact I found out he is using my utilities for his part of the bottom half of the house. I sent him a letter stating that I was following the "implied warranty of habitability" law, and started to withhold rent until he makes repairs. I just recieved an eviction notice tonite for not paying rent, and was informed he was not repaying me for the work I have done on the house. What should I do?

My response:

Why did you rent this dump in the first place? Most assuredly, all of these defects didn't just appear in the last 11 months - - did they?

Move.

Yes, these things slowly occured over the 11 mos. that I have been here. The only thing that I new of when we moved in was the leaking sink in bathroom, but it wasnt bad then, and the roof leaking, but he suposibly fixed it. I found out the other day that his "fixing' was placing a bucket in the attic to catch the water. The furnace was red-tagged just about 3 mos. ago. I want to move, but around here its hard to find a place that is a 3 bedroom and affordable, and decent. I end up with places like this.
