i was terminated in louisiana for making an "offensive" comment in the presence of another in employee who went to management. louisiana is a "at will" employeement state but a similar circumstance came up 2 years ago and the employee was brought back because he was never told by the accusing employee that the remarks were offensive. do i have the same rights?

Unfortunately, I don’t believe that the other employee had a “right” to reinstatement, the company reinstated him in their discretion. I believe it would be up to their discretion in your case also. The only exception to that would be if the fact that the company acted that way once two years ago set a policy. And unless they announced or published that that would be a policy, then on instance would not make it one.

So I would have to conclude that it probably was not a wrongful termination.
