Recently an employee of mine filed a complaint stating that I had targeted him for termination and that I was after his job. He based his statements on what he said was information that he had recieved from one of his employees. It has since been revealed that his information was false. THis employee told him that she had not said those things and that she would not lie for him. Instead of coming clean with this information my employee has allowed my superiors to continue with an internal investigation. This investigation has led to people not being allowed to talk to me, I can't sleep at night, I worry all of the time. The accusations were false, this employee knows that and yet he lets them continue to search and investigate me.

I have made my superiors aware of the fact that this information is false, as a matter of fact the employee in question has submitted a written statement revealing as much. I forwarded this statement to my superiors and still they investigate me. What can I do? I fear losing my job or being reprimanded for this. At the very least it has damaged my reputation within the organization and has caused me tremendous anguish and worry. Please help?
