What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

If you send a legal letter to some repair company or to your landlord for reinbursement of something they broke and admitted to, how long should you wait for payment or at least a response before you take them to court?

also, how do you even take someone to small claims?

I would say 30 days at most.

You send the Letter RRR Certified mail .Give them 10 business days to respond ( from the date they picked up and signed for the letter ).

If they don't pick it up or respond within 14 business days file snmall claims action .
