My X owes me $25K+. We split over a year ago & I have not received a dime. Should I pursue this as a series of claims in Small Claims or as 1 regular Civil case & consider getting an attorney?

Moreover, after our split she moved in with her parents rent free. Can her parents claim her as a dependent & if so can I include them on my claim? I have concerns on her willingness & ability to pay me back in reasonable time.

25K+ is more than small claims can handle. If you have a good chance of winning the case, and if she has property or wages you can garnish, you should hire an attorney and sue her.

If her parents provide more than half her support then they can claim her as a dependent. However, that would have nothing to do with your claim.
