An old neighbor arrivedin my town and called me from a payphone one stormy night. Broke, in a rented van, and everything she owned, her daughter and cocker spanial. I took her in. the daughter left. The "house guest", stayed and stayed, I bought the food, didn't ask for rent, drove her around, bought the dogs food, and everything else. In return she attempted to help me in my new home. But everything she touched, she broke. She kept her dog in a bedroom, locked up. We argued alot. Finally, she faked a heart attack and I told her to call the fire dept., I was not about to waste my time in the hospital. The fire dept. took her away. She returned at midnight with her daughter and thought all was ok. , but I said NO and get out. She did. She left with the clothes on her back. She left her dog and all her stuff is in my garage.

How long do I have to keep it?
Can I keep her dog?

the phone bill came and it had $600.00. it is her bill! I paid it.

She will never pay me the money, but she will be back sooner or later. She will make a seign. She will steal more things from me. She will act like I owe her. I will mostlikely hit her or something and end up in Jail. what can I do? I live in Modesto, CA. What are my legal rights and what are hers? Thank you

My response:

What dog? What stuff? You never stayed here a day in your life !! If you don't leave, I'm going to call the cops and make a citizen's arrest for trespass. Then, you'll have a place to stay - - albeit, you'll only have 3 walls, and bars in front of you, but, it'll be warm, and you'll have 3 squares a day. You won't be able to go out though. Bummer. You'll have your own jewelry, too - - a pair of matching bracelets. And, you'll have the attention of a nice judge.

Now, get out !!
