I have final divorce paperwork and the stipulation that states my x is responsible for 1/2 of our daughter's student loan. He has paid for my 2 grown children's health insurance for 2 years at about $80. @ month and the student loan is $80. a month so I haven't pursued his 1/2 for the 2 years. Now my son is 19 and graduating and support ends along with the insurance, so now it's time for him to pay his 1/2 of the student loan, I have paid for the 4 years.. My daughter is a Sr. in college now and the loan is over 4 years old and the loan is in my name and being paid off in a debt consolidation. How can I get him to pay his 1/2 of what is owed?? The amount in question is approximatly $2,500 for his half. Do I take him to small claims court (New Hampshire is $2,500 max.) or do I go through the Divorce court for some type of contempt of a court order????
