What is the name of your state? Florida.
Here is my dillema...My divorce was finalized just over a year ago. Part of the final judgement was that he was to keep his investments and retirement and I was to keep mine. Towards that end, a year ago, I sent my investment company all the documents necessary proving the divorce was final. With it, per their rules, I completed a form requesting his name be taken off the account as joint owner along with his signature. Alas, the form failed to mention I needed a signature garantee from his financial institution. I contacted the investment company back in January explaining that I thought I had completed the action necessary to get his name off. I simply do not want to have to associate w/him whatsoever. The investment co's "legal" dept said the only way around was to ask to have shares redeemed and sent via clearing house to my bank acct AND to include my signature (alone) along with my banks signature garantee on me. I recieved a call from them a week ago saying this would not work. Still need his sign/garantee. Folks this man currently weighs 130lbs (from 180) and lives with (excuse me) a crack whore. Is there ANY WAY I can work around this? Incompetenence on his part ?- unable to make sound decisions. I am about to build a home and MY investment may come in handy. As a side note he is in contempt for final check for $$ due to me in final judgement..but that is a diffenent story. Please help! Thank you.
