What is the name of your state?

thought you might help this gal out. :D

I LIVE IN LOUISIANA WHERE COMMON LAW MARRIAGES ARE NOT RECOGNIZED. I AM FILING FOR CHAPTER 7 AND THE MAJORITY OF OUR DEBTS ARE JOINT. I WANTED TO KNOW IF EVEN IF WE ARE NOT MARRIED CAN WE FILE JOINTLY SINCE THE DEBTS ARE JOINT? WE HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FOR OVER 13 YEARS AND HAVE 2 CHILDREN TOGETHER.AND ALSO IF ONLY I CAN FILE WILL CREDITORS STILL PURSUE HIM FOR THE DEBTS? IF ANYONE CAN HELP WITH THIS I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR IN PUT. I AM MEETING WITH A LAWYER TOMORROW NEED TO KNOW ASAP SO I CAN INCLUDE HIS DEBTS ALSO.
