What is the name of your state? New Jersey
Suppressing this nitemare for more than 22 years, it's coming out here for the first time.
Have you ever had a disgruntled relative? One very bitter relative who wanted to make everyone else around her bitter as she?
Well I have. I must tell you that if someone like this is helbent on doing you some serious damage BEWARE! I had a long-disowned "sister" like this once. I failed to act on the early signs of her mental illness like telling me three and then two weeks before the Incident "every time I have sex with my husband I think I'm having sex with you."
I kinda shrugged this off and chalk it up to bizarre behavior but by doing so I failed to anticipate what was coming next. This person (the sister) concoct a scheme where the sister tells the mother "tell totalwreck123 to 'clean out the closet' while you go away for a week on vacation. Then when you return you scream 'oh my god look what you did to my closet!' and I'll take it from there."
I'm sure my father was deadset agasint this scheme from the beginning, what what could he do about it? He was forced to go along with it. So that's what happened. Soon after my mother scremed this very loudly (my mother had the mouth of a truck driver, btw) I was chillin' in my bedroom, not bothering anyone. First I hear a muffled police radio. Then there's a knock on my door. I open it and there's like twelve police officers there who enter my bedroom.
First of all the sister didn't even live in the house! So they come in. I hear the superviser yell out "he looks pretty calm to me." So one of the officers sits down on my bed next to me, puts his arm firmly around my shoulder and after about ten minutes of this wrangling he says "we want you to go with us." I hesitated for a moment. I'm not the most well-spoken person in the world. That little hesitation cost me a trip outside the house, and into a police car (uncuffed) for the trip to the Crazyhouse.
So I'm subject to this embarrassment, humiliation and unnecessary four hour "mental exam" which I almost failed as anyone can. They finally let me go into the custody of father totalwreck123. This was my birthday too, if I remember correctly. Either that or a day within. I guess the 'problem' stemmed from my throwing out a few rags and tidying up a linen closet which my mother told me to do anyway, obviously in cahoots with the sister who had "bigger plans" for a few old towels and linens. The closet was a fire safety hazard anyway.
So the very next day I go down to the courthouse and get a summons for the sister to appear in court, a sort of dispute resolution center. When I arrive with the police (from the same stationhouse btw) to the sister's play of employ I enter the place of business with the two police officers to serve the summons. There are about 12 other nervous-looking women sitting down there but there's no sign of the sister I'm looking for. The supervisor tells me and the police, "she's out to lunch" so I had to take that at face value. We leave.
When I get the sister on the phone a little later in the day and ask her if she's "there now" I get hit with the obligatory "My husband has a shotgun and I'm going to kill you with it." Fear, people fear.
So she unexpectedly shows up at my house again staring directly down at the knife cabinet and out of fear but not proper procedure I tell her "if you ever try this again" you know etc etc .... So I guess I was bullied into quashing the summons out of fear that her husband "has a shotgun and she's going to kill me with it."
So she didn't come over to the house for like weeks after that. However lo and behold she did try to have me committed a couple of more times after that, by calling at least two separate city agencies and trying every scheme in the book to get her way. Btw the absurdity of this woman must really be irking you by now. I guess it is. I think the aging sister was doing this in order to get a better rock off for her husband. Who knows the motivation for this. Fratricide, sibling rivalry, I'll never know. Do you?
Well each and every time I had to deal with the new city agents she sent over to me I repelled them every time, because there is nothing wrong with me. Not mentally anyway.
Here's a new twist. Then what happened was the other sister who is in a lot worse-off mental condition that this one came down into my car one day and asked me if I could "find a hitman to kill her husband for her." She already had an Order of Protection against this man, who she was still living with." A time after that (fear people fear) I wrote down a few of the transgressions these two women were committing against me and apparently the entire community at large and I went to the homicide detectives of the police preceint sister #2 lived and reported the threat of solicitation for Murder. I told them this woman (sister #2) is a REAL lunatic and she's not small either.
So that was the last I heard from sisters #1 and 2. I suppose it was finally discovered they THEMSELVES were the Crazy Ones and not me or anyone else. THEY were taken to the Crazyhouse and I've never really heard from either one of them since. In situations like these wouldn't you DISOWN two creeps like these yourself? That's what I was forced to do.
I'd just like to point out what I said in the beginning. The nitemare that happened to me can happen to any one of you too. In a moment of weakness you yourself can fall into the predicament I fell into. Under no fault of your own. You're not immune.
What I'd like to do at this time is get an assessment from the FREEADVICE community -
What did I do wrong?
Where were my shortcomings?
Could I have taken legal action at that time for False Arrest even though there was no arrest?
Were my Civil Rights violated in any way?
Should I have sued sister and possibly the police too for SOMETHING?
How immune do you think YOU are from something like this happening to YOU?
What would YOU do if placed on the defensive like I was?
I spoke briefly about this scenario to my attorney at the time who told me "there had to be some Probable Cause." What do you think the Probable Cause was?
Do you think I'm scarred for life from this?
Btw to add a little icing to the proverbial cake there were two other "accusations" the sister had against me. 1) that I bought a new jacket for my brother, and 2) that I had taken a trip to Florida. These were apparently affronts to "the sister" who I have been happy to disown forever with no chance of reconciliation. Please don't even suggest that; I'm just posting this for your assessment of the situation and what I did wrong and right and if you think this can't happen to you or your neighbor either. Don't forget the cops were eating up the story! Don't kind yourselves. This can happen to YOU, people, perhaps without any remedy and you very easily GETTING committed to some Crazyhouse somewhere. That's why I had to disown the critters.
Thank you for your input, advice and thoughts everyone. Love, totalwreck123
