I am a 17 year old from Ohio. Mercer county (don't kow if you need to know that). I recently had a party at my house while my parents were at Cincinnatti. Police came after everybody left except one of my sober friends. I had one beer and admitted it. However I was never read my miranda rights prior to the police questioning me, and was never read my rights at all. Also, I was given a breathalyzer test without my parents being notified prior to it. I have been told alot of things from people at school, like a minor can't get a breathalyzer without their parents permission, that police can't pull into your driveway without them having their red and blue flashers on, and a friend of mine actually got off an underage citation because her miranda's were never read to her. So what is true and not true? Any advice is appreciated. Once again, I am a minor from Ohio. Thank you. Kelli.

Kelli, you need to hire a criminal defense lawyer. You have lots of 4th amendment issues and we can't give you much guidance without a LOT more facts and a face-to-face discussion. Don't rely too much on your classmates' advice. They're dead wrong about the driveway/flashers thing.
