Hello Forum:

Last month I sold a gold bar on eBay for over 1000$. I sent the item through signature confirmation and also bought insurance. After a few days the customer left positive feedback and I also did the same. I got my money and he got his item. Everybody happy.

Once I got the feedback I could not keep track of receipts and probably they were trashed. Can’t find them.

Now after 24 days this buyer opened a PayPal claim saying he never received the item.
PayPal was going to refund all his money through me because I didn’t have tracking numbers. PayPal said they don’t care about positive feedback…it is nothing to them!!!
I went to the post office and the lady said she can’t do anything.

I was heartbroken and angry but still took one last chance to go to the post office and u know what? I got all info retrieved! Upon providing the necessary info the PayPal closed the case in my favor.

But both PayPal and eBay are not going to do anything about the buyer!!!!!

Now today I received an email from this scammer buyer asking the certificate number of gold bar to be sure whether he has it or not.

Now I am cent percent sure another plan is hatching up in his mind to scam me.

I came to know through some research that buyers can ask for charge back. I am sure he will be definitely looking for that. I am sure PayPal and eBay are not going to do anything. Nada…

He will just click a few buttons and I will be having a chargeback.

Now my question is: what preparation should I do to cope with this if a charge back happens in future?

Look what I have: Proof of delivery with signature confirmation and fortunately the buyer himself received and signed the item. I have printed the info because after sometime it won’t show up on the USPS website.

Positive feedback from this buyer.

My worst fear is that the chargeback can occur even after a year or so. What would happen at that time?

Am I well prepared or I need to do something else.

If this person harasses me in future with chargeback, can I take the help of law enforcement with the proof which I have mentioned above?

Or still I simply can’t do anything but just to respond each time these scammers make life miserable???

Your advice and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot…
