Zoning Question

I live in a condo in New York City. My neighbor has knocked down one of two walls between condos probably to increase his space. Problem is, now I can hear everything they say and the barking dog. Isn't there some zoning law to prevent this invasion of privacy? What are my recourses? Thank you for your response.

Have you told the condo association officers about this. There may be a restriction to breaking down walls between condos in the rules. You should have a copy of the rules, too. If not, ask the association for one. Condo associations are required to have announced meeting on a certain schedule. Attend the next one or ask in writing to have this situation discussed. Then go with the other owners who object to this situation.
