Hello, I was a chef assistant at a large banquet Kitchen. For the last year and and a half I have been challenged with working in an environment where the Chefs made it plain they did not like me or my methods. On January 17th I was accused of physically threatening another cook and escorted from the building. Incident happened on the evening of the 16th. There primary evidence was 2 statements written by said cook and another cook. I filed a grievance with the union who then assigned me representative. My representative has not exactly been the go getter type. She kept telling me she was talking to the shop stewards in my location and not getting results. Complaining about being over extended and switching locations. Our first meeting with labor relations we had nothing but the original statements and the decision came back not in my favor. I had to push and prod cast members on facebook and the one shop steward I had contact info for to finally get statements in my defence for yesterdays meeting Joint Standing. (4-16). Yesterday we had statements from 2 cast members saying they witnessed the incident and it was not as described and also a statement from the original cook I supposedly threatened recanting his statement and saying he was coerced into writing it by one of the chefs. The cook quit shortly after I was terminated. After yesterdays joint standing Union rep called me today and said the company was offering me my job back with no back pay and a 2 point reprimand. I feel like the company is pushing one over because of the lackadaisical attitude of the union rep. I plan on calling the union on monday see if I can talk to my reps boss just wondering if there's anything else I should do?
A little background...
Chefs are management
Chef assistants are supervisors but handled in the same contract with cooks.
Witness statements said I raised my hand threatening to strike.
when incident happened I was on my knees showing the cook how to clean a tram.
