My husband is a doctor who signed a contract that included a bonus structure. There was a formula of 15% of profits he produced above and beyond his employee costs- salary, malpractice, CME and health insurance He worked his tail off. The hospital he covered had record numbers of patients and he usually had 3 days off a month. They kept promising that things would get better after they hired additional help- which never happened. When he was hired they gave him a salary range what to expect with the base plus bonus. Time for the bonus came and went and he had to keep asking about it. Finally they gave him a check which was 1/10th of what we were expecting. When he got home and we opened the check we were stunned. Later he asked them about it and they said that they didn't make any money- after mentioning expenses that are business expenses not employee expenses listed in his contract. They said the amount he got was just to be nice. We never saw any figures at all detailing any of the expenses or profits. We just have to take her word on it that they didn't make any money. The group is incorporated and filed an annual report. Do we have any right to see financials or supeona the annual report in order to fight for his rightful bonus? His boss seems to hire young doctors, work them to death and then treat them bad so they never make partner. We lived and learned... but can we live, learn AND get what is due? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?

We cannot begin to know what language is written in the contract, he really needs to seek the advice a local employment attorney.
