What is the name of your state? Massachusetts

My Mother just past away a week ago and I have a few questions. First she planned on creating a will but with her illness was unable to in time. Her father, my grandfather, quitclaimed his interest in the family farm in 1998 and he died in 2000. There is only my brother and I and am not sure on how to proceed, does my Mom's assets go to my brother and I automatically or do I have to go through probate. Also she has her personal assets such as antiques etc in an aprtment she was renting. How do I proceed with that because me and my brother will have to remove these things soon. Thanks for any help you can give.
