What is the name of your state? West (by God) Virginia
I have 3 questions here.
THE INTERVIEW-September 6th, 2005
I work retail as an intimates specialist at a department store. When I was hired the interview went like this:
Q: Tell me what previous experience you have.
A: I have worked retail parttime for 3 the past years while attending college.
Q: Do you have any leadership skills?
A: As a matter of fact, I do. I have been president of the Red Cross Club at my University for the past two years. Last year, I organized a city wide fund raiser for victims of the tsunami....blah blah blah....
Q: It says here you want sundays off. What church do you attend?
A: I uh...um....uh. None. Um...er...huh?
Q: Do you attend church on Sundays?
A: Um...no?
Q: Then you will work at least one Sunday each month. When can you start?
I am almost certain it is illegal for her to ask me this. Even though I got the job, it still bothers me that she asked me this. Is there any thing I can do about it.
NOSEY BOSS
If I am ill, my boss asks me what I have, if I have been to the doctor, and what medications and what doses I am on. This bugs the crap out of me. If I say "I dont know", she comes back with "you can let me know tomarrow". She irritates me to no end with this. No matter what I tell her I am on, she is certain I ought to be on something else. Is there any way I can tell her nicely to bug off. As my manager, does she have a right to know. Does she have a right to discuss it with other coworkers?
DOCTORS NOTE
My latest greivience with this job involves a docotrs note. They say that if I call in sick for 3 or more days then I cannot come back to work until I provide them with a doctors note saying that I am sick. Can they do that? It jsut seems wierd that I need a doctor to tell them Im was sick mon, tues, and wed, even when I cannot get an appointment until saturday morning. It makes even less sense that although they act very put off by the fact I wont be working a 4 hour shift on wednesday, that they wont allow me to work for them again until I get the doctors note. It seems quite inefficient to me.
I certainly feel better now. If nothing else, Ive gotten everything off my mind. Thanks in advance for any replies or help with this.
