You're both right....

But here in Salzburg, it's more cosmopolitan...especially at the Casino.

Now Beth, don't get all female on me, but IAAL will understand. It makes an old fart's heart just bust out all over when I look across the craps field and see a very healthy young lady lay down a few chips

"Mein Deutsch ist auch schlect und ich brauch weitere Unterricht..."

Did you just say your German is sh*t? Evidently mine is.

Though poorly constructed, the phrase 'Mein Deutsch ist auch schlect und ich brauch weitere Unterricht!'
means
"My German is not very good, but I await your further instructions"

Oh and welcome back Hexy. We missed you.

BTW, if you get a chance, stop by Rothenburg ob der Tauber, on the Romantische Strasse south from Wurzburg. One of the last walled cities left in Germany after the Reformation. Great little town with an incredible history!!
And I really like Fusen.... and Neuschwanstein!!
Been there several times!!

I've been to Munich and I've been to Saltzburg but you're right, I've never been to OktoberFest. I did have some really weird dude hitting on me at the Haufbrau Haus one interesting evening though.

My response:

Well, actually JetX, the phrase is - -

"Mein Deutsch ist nicht sehr gut, aber ich erwarte Ihre weiteren Anweisungen."

My response:

However, this is also proper - -

"Ich möchte Geschlecht mit jeder deutschen Frau haben, die Lederhosen trägt und große Brüste hat."

Okay, but did you wear Lederhosen?

HEY JET!!!

Nice to know there's someone who is close to the translation.

the actual translation, although you were right on the construction, is:

"My German is bad and I need further instruction."

And I know the town you're referring to. It is indeed beautiful. And the original square is still there with the cobblestones although some have been paved over for parking.

In Wasserburg am. Inn there is also an old wall from the 1400s and the drawbridge is still there, although a bridge now goes from the new town to the old square.

O.K. enough. I have to get to dinner before all the Spatzel and JaggerSchnitzel is gone :D

My response:

Why? Are you eating at a Smörgåsbord, and you're afraid that big fat guy, wearing Lederhosen, is going to eat all of it?

No, the big fat woman with the lederhosen :D

And it's a Pension where I'm staying. It's one of those VERY old buildings with too-small bedrooms and the shower down the hall....and I love it.

*** I think I stayed there!!
- The room was so small, even the mice were hunchbacked....
- The room was so small, when I put the key in the door, I broke the window. ...
- The room was so small, you had to leave the room to open the drawers on the dresser....
- The room was so small, you had to open the door to put on your pants....
- The electricity was so bad that when I got turned on, the lights went out....
