Depends on the crime.
Most States have a one year Statute of Limitations for petty misdemeanors
Most states don't have petty misdemeanors at all. I can only think of a couple of states that do.

States have various SOLs for misdemeanors but a year to two years is common.

The bulk of DRUG charges are felonies. These can range to multiple years to not having any limitations period.

But the poster didn't say what was seized.
He also didn't say what state he was in. The statute of limitations could be as short as 30 days for small quantities of marijuana in some states up until having no limitation period at all for certain state charges for trafficking or even for certain federal drug crimes.
