child support wonder???

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New Mexico
Can the absent parent who is receiving SSI disability payments be ordered to pay child support? He has never paid a penny and was ordered by the state to pay child support since 1994!! I recently found out about his disability payments and reported it... Sick and tired of this I cant pay crap. Our son is 21 yrs old and still he cant pay???

SSI cannot be garnished, period.

SSDI can be garnished for child support.

However, expect your ex to try to use the "laches" defense seeing as you appear to have " sat " on the issue for so long.
