What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

A privilege protecting a communication between persons means that a witness cannot be compelled to testify about the content of the communications.Every such privilege applies to relationships characterized by trust and confidentiality.
The privileges recognized by the courts in U.S. are the attorney-client privilege, the psychotherapist-patient privilege, the clergy-communicant privilege, and the spousal privileges.

Should the Law extend to parents the same privilege it provides to lawyers,
psychotherapists, and the other professionals covered ?

If yes why?

If not why not?
