What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

My mother has mental sickness and can't no longer control of her finance. i need to become the conservator of estate for her. She still owns a property. I have been paying her bills and property taxes for the past 2 years. What's the requirement for me to get the court to appoint me as the conservator of estate? Is this something simple to do or should i hire a lawyer to do it for me. thanks.

There's no such thing as "mental sickness." Who diagnosed her as being unable to handle her finances?

You need to hire an attorney.
