i just found out from a credit report that my roommates in college did not take care of an account with a water delivery company that they agreed to take over when I moved. the bill totals over $900.

my contract with the water company clearly stated that i was to only have a 15 day credit limit - however my roommates repeatedly missed bills (at one point for over 7 months) and the company kept delivering water and charging the account.

did the water company breach our contract? am i still liable to pay this debt? if not how can i get the water company to admit this (i am already disputing the charges to my account).
