What is the name of your state?
Texas.
I was wondering what would be the best way to protect your assets in case of a divorce. I have been told to keep everything in your name separate and have her do the same, but what else could you do. I know one guy who was in business and his partner was fixing to sue him so he divorced his wife and signed everything over to him so he would not lose anything. Could you do the same thing in a divorce and sign your retirement and assets to someone before you got a divorce so your spouse could not get it since it would not be your any more and when the divorce was over sign it back over to you? If anyone has and information on this or if there are any lawyers that can comment on this please get back to me. Thanks for the help.
