What is the name of your state? OK
When hired, employer said he would pay my health insurance and in discussing the deductible amount, he said "I would rather help you with the deductible and pay the lower premium" so he did. Now that I'm getting a procedure and the $1000 deductible applies, I asked him about helping with the deductible. He said that he never said he would help me with the deductible. I reminded him of the above quote and he says "I said I would rather help with the deductible but I didn't say I would". I expressed by disagreement and he went into an angry fit and said if I wasn't happy there I could leave. This was the second angry outburst after trying to discuss my benefits which were discussed but never put in writing. He also increased my hours without increase in pay after I quit my job and accepted his job. If he keeps telling me that I can just leave, I may do that but can I get unemployment until I find another job? I'm almost afraid of him when he gets angry like that and don't know how much I can tolerate. Please help and give me your opinions.

"can I get unemployment until I find another job?" It's highly unlikely that you will be eligible for unemployment benefits if you quit the job for the reasons given. Your better option is to keep this job until you find another. After all, at least you do have group health insurance and a steady income. If you just up and quit your job, you'll have neither.
