Unfortunately, yes. You are correct.
I'm resigned to that now.
I hope that you can feel better than resigned someday.

1. You can choose to see dad's actions as a hurtful neglect.

or

2. You can see dad's election to no have a will as his choice to distribte his estate among his sons.

If see it as choice 1, you are already hurt. See it as choice 2 and then realize that dad had good reasons to want to distance his 'negative' son.

Good luck, and be active in seeking help with this estate. Good lawyer and perhaps a grief counselor (Touchy feely I know - but being in a strong place mentally will help you make the right choices legally.)
