Is it possible for aunts and uncles to try and get visitation for nieces and nephews if brothers ex-girlfriend is refusing to let the family see them?

no, they have no standing to seek visitation. if they want to see the children, they can see them when they are with the brother

It is unlikely they will get any visitation. aunts, uncles, even grandparents in most cases do not have the right for visitation.
The family member they are related to that has the child can make the decisions on family member visitation.
