I would hazard a guess to say that too much insistence by mauricev on having things done the way he wants them done rather than on how the landlord wants them done is a pretty good way to not get a lease renewed.

This is not a house purchased or sold by the tenant. It is a rental unit owned by the landlord/property owner. Different standards apply. The rental lease governs.
Huh? What in anything I wrote talked about anything other than a tenancy? At this point I can only suggest that the original poster contact a local tenant/landlord attorney. They aren't getting good advice here since one of us is wrong.
