What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CO
A couple of questions regarding registering judgments. I'm in CO and have a couple of civil judgments against someone in VA.
1) If I register the judgments to VA, does anyone know if their foreign judgments are renewable?
2) Does the clock start ticking when I register in VA, or from when the judge signed the papers? Right now in CO I have 20 years to collect, but VA foreign judgments are for 10 years. If I wait 8 years to transfer the judgment, will I have their full 10 years, or only 2 years?
Thanks! What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
