From your use of "emotional affair" I'm assuming he hasn't physically been sniffing around anyone else's tailpipe (so to speak) but merely checking out the bodywork and hanging onto the owner's every word - maybe with a desire to test-drive?

Keep in mind that your husband is VERY likely to get primary custody even if you remain in the home. Being he is the children's primary caretaker, he has a huge advantage already. If that happens, you can expect to be paying child support and possibly alimony.

That's not quite so definite as you are making it sound, with this specific set of facts. Who knows where this woman lives that he is having the emotional affair with, and whether or not he will take off somewhere to try to be with her.
