What INS form should one submit, if she intends to be out of the United States for more than one year?

You would apply for a reentry permit on form I-131.

what if the person has a re-entry permit but still comes back in six months and leaves again for another few months (because of work in another country), would this cut his continous stay for naturalization purposes?
