Sometimes, common sense takes a back seat for law enforcement personnel and their private space. The reason I mentioned the "unwritten" policy is because that was what I was advised to do by other law enforcement personnel when this same issue happened to me.

The difference turned out to be that the law enforcement person who attempted bullying, intimidation, threats, and other pranks towards me was warned in private first. It didn't stop, even after I moved. So, to me, moving is not the first choice. However, where I moved to, the neighbors were far more helpful, and the individual finally quit harassing me.
