What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I got hurt on the job in March of 2008. I never filed for Worker's Compensation because my manager told me not to. I was not given the proper days off to rest my injuries. I was afraid that I would lose my job so I did what he told me. I worked while I was in severe pain, suffered from a 2nd degree burn to my ankle. What I can do now? My scar is still there and I am still suffering pain and other feelings.
