Incomplete inspection on vehicle purchase

Would you care to fill in the forum on how that decision came about , possibly helping out someone who stumbles upon this thread ?

We just told them that salesman assured us the vehicle had been inspected and everything was in proper working order. When a business person makes you a promise that something is a certain way, it should be that way. Anyway, they apologized for "not catching it", and we explained that their oversight should not be at our expense.

To backtrack a little...we found 3 other lights out (on the steering wheel controls) at the same time as the dash lights. We were willing to pay the $140 to get those replaced since they were just a cosmetic issue and not related to driving safety. The lack of panel lights was clearly a safety concern at night.

Back to now... they have offered to pay the cost of the cluster and part of the steering wheel lights. Thanks again for your thoughts.
