What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania
A co-worker of mine recently gave her notice; her last day will be September 3rd. The company informed her on August 30th that she will be covered under her regular insurance (which she has had and which comes out of her paycheck) only until August 31st due to the billing cycle and when it ends. If she wishes to continue coverage after that, she can sign up for COBRA. Is this legal? Can the company cut off her regular insurance coverage before her last day of employment? Or are they just trying to get out of paying an extra month of premiums? If this is illegal, can someone please point me to somewhere that I might be able to find some written law in order to get this straightened out? I would like to keep this from happening to all the other employees who decide to leave sometime other than the last day of the month. Thanks!!
