Nothing in the facts you have said indicate the reasonableness of handcuffs in the back of a vehicle for an arrest on a suspended license. There had to be more.
She wasn't driving. How do I know? The owner's truck is a manual transmission, which I know she cannot operate.

You never said anything in the opening post about her being searched.
Her backpack was searched, but presumably it falls under the same issue as being held in the back of a cruiser for however long it was while being a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation.
