hi
I'm in Pa. and my wife and I both went to get our license and photo at the same time. Both of our license show issue date as 2-3-96,but mine expires on 6-30-99,hers on 5-30-00.Hers is valid for 4+years while mine is valid for approx.3-1/2.If a deli scale or gas pump shorted you like this the person would be in trouble.I paid for a 4 year license, should I get a 4 year license.
thanks ed<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
My response:
I want to let you know, I earnestly tried to find some authority for the validity time of a driver's license for PA. However, no such luck. I imagine, however, the rule is not too far off from California's rules; i.e., the length of time depends on your record in the previous 4 years. Perhaps Mama Bear's records are a little cleaner than Papa Bear's? Or, there is some other factor that makes you and her different in the eyes of the law. I also imagine, a quick call to your local DMV will get a better answer for you, but I think you'll get basically the same answer.
Thanks for writing.
