What is the name of your state? IL

Hi Gurus, Please help urgently with my situation below as I am close to a settlement process.

Is it a good idea to claim the lost wages at the settlement. Infact I took some days off but they were the paid vacation or sick days given by my company. So technically I did not lose any money.

So can I claim for these vacation / sick days as "lost wages" during the settlement? Also, why would the company write a letter for "lost wages" as they will say that this is the paid vacation.

Any advices in this regard.

Thanks a lot.

Your post is not clear. did you just take the time off or were you off because of injuries? If you were injured you lost vacation/sick days that you had already earned and deserve to be compensated.

Thanks for your reply.

I had to take time off due to accident related reasons ie sometimes i was having pain in nech and head (I had neck injuries and strain), sometimes i had to go to see the doctor. One day I took off as my car was to be towed back to my garage (the other party's insurance was taking too long toaccept the responsibility and i thought to get the damaged car towed to my place instead of lying there in the auto garage).

For all this, I took off 9 days. All of them are paid vacation or sick days and are given by my company. So technically "No wages are lost".

Now I am close to the settlement process as told by my attorney (he did negotiate for wages lost so far). He said I need the letter from the employer.

So should I be entitled for some "Wages Lost"? Should I ask my company to issue a letter like this? I mean do the companies often do that.

Thanks a lot for your help.
