My ex husband and I filed a Dissolution of Marriage, and it was final in September of this year. We did not have any assests to divide up so it was a pretty simple ordeal.
My question is regarding my maiden name. On the forms that I filed, there was a section asking if the wife would like to resume her maiden, and it asked what my maiden name was.
So was that all I had to do? I mean other than change the name on my SS card and all my identification / cards / etc.? Or is there a second part to the filing process in getting back my maiden name? Also, would any extra fees be involved?
